Kim Adler

Global Head of Communications, Alcon

In her role, Kim Adler leads the Global Communications function at Alcon including the development and execution of a communications strategy for the division. Her focus spans several key areas, including internal and external communication activities and stakeholder management, Corporate Giving and the Alcon Foundation, management of Alcon’s corporate brand, media relations and social media strategy and activities. She serves as a member of the Alcon Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and of the global Novartis Communications Leadership Team (CLT).

Previously Ms. Adler was at Novelis Inc., the global leader in aluminum rolled products and the world’s largest recycler of aluminum, where she was most recently Vice President, Communications and Government Affairs. In that role, she had global oversight for all aspects of the $10 billion company’s award winning communications and public affairs functions. With 25 operations in 11 countries, Novelis employs about 12,000 people in its offices, plants and research and technology centers.

Prior to joining Novelis in 2010, Ms. Adler served as Director, Corporate Communications, for Freudenberg-NOK and Freudenberg North America, responsible for the communications function for 10 companies, including a joint venture sealing company owned by Freudenberg in Germany and NOK Corporation in Japan. Previously, she was Senior Director, Communications, Light Vehicle Systems, ArvinMeritor, and for the subsequent spin-off company ArvinInnovation. Ms. Adler has also served as an executive speechwriter for senior executives at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Ford Motor Company, where she also held several Communications posts. From 1990–2007, her firm, Adler Communications, provided strategic communications support for a variety of clients.

Ms. Adler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She also completed an executive development program through Duke University. She and her family will be relocating from Atlanta, Georgia to Fort Worth in the near future.
