Phil Noble, Jr.

Co-Founder of Envision South Carolina



Phil is a businessman in Charleston and Co-founder of EnvisionSC – a new College of Charleston initiative to support innovative ideas and people with a goal to make South Carolina ‘world class and globally connected.’

Noble has started two technology companies and two other South Carolina non-profit groups - the Palmetto Project and One Laptop Per Child South Carolina. He is recognized as one of the early pioneers in the US and globally in the use of the Internet in the civic sector – media, education, politics, governments and non-profits. He is an award winning documentary film producer and currently writes a weekly column about South Carolina for the state press association.

Noble has served on numerous boards and commissions including those at Clemson, USC and the College of Charleston. Phil and his wife, Nancy Madden of Laurens, have two grown children and a hound dog named Elvis.
