George Regan

George K. Regan, Jr. of Quincy founded Regan Communications Group, Inc. in 1984. Today it is New England’s largest privately-owned public relations firm and the sixth-largest privately-owned public relations firm in the country, with more than 100 clients, and nine offices in Boston, New York City, Osterville, MA, Jupiter, FL, Hartford, CT, New London, CT, Providence, RI, Washington, DC, and Charleston, SC.

Its client base is a virtual “Who’s Who” list of leading companies in business, sports and entertainment, including Bank of America, Suffolk Construction, Legal Sea Foods, New Balance Athletic Shoe, SBLI, Davio’s, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston magazine, and CBS Sports.

Prior to launching Regan Communications Group, George worked as a reporter at the Boston Globe beginning at the age of 17, earning his first byline at the age of 18. He then became a leading figure in the administration of Boston Mayor Kevin White for over a decade, first as Press Secretary and later as Director of Communications for the City of Boston.

George also worked on numerous presidential campaigns, serving as national advance person for Jimmy Carter’s successful 1976 presidential campaign and also working on presidential campaigns for Mo Udall, Henry “Scoop” Jackson, and Michael Dukakis.

George is a strong supporter of various charitable organizations such as The American Liver Foundation, Carroll Center for the Blind, Courageous Sailing Center, Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital and Franciscan Hospital for Children, Urban College of Boston, Perkins School for the Blind, and the Sports Museum.

George has received numerous awards, including the American Liver Foundation’s Man of the Year, Franciscan Children’s Hospital Man of the Year, the ARC of Greater Boston’s Man of the Year, and the Anti-Defamation League’s Distinguished Community Service Award. In 2007, the Child Welfare League of America named George as a Corporate Friend of Children.

He is also a passionate animal lover who is active in animal rights causes, especially on behalf of his dogs Georgia, Elvis, Brother Bailey, BJ Jr., and Mr. Snuggles.

George received a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Suffolk University and a Master of Science in public relations from Boston University.
