People Person

I've always had an interest in people. I find people fascinating to spend time with and interact with. The COMM major really drew my attention for this reason, which is why I declared my major so early on. So far, I’ve really enjoyed my COMM 215 class regarding human relationships.

A Healthy Balance

I keep busy between my classes, studying, going to the gym, and spending time with my friends. I also recently received the 2016-2017 Charlie Hall Scholarship, which is available to incoming freshmen with a strong interest in communication.

Cheers to Charleston

So far, my favorite thing about life in Charleston is the freedom to just go for a walk in the city or to take my homework to the Battery or a park. The city is beautiful, and I get to explore it whenever I choose, which is special to me.

Thinking About the Future

I hope to pursue an internship at a local news station because I am interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism. Watching and reading the news inspires me to pursue my dream of becoming a reporter and/or anchor. Seeing the stories and how they are presented fascinates me and reminds me that a journalist’s job is to keep the public well-informed on current events and politics.
