Sasha Horne

Sasha Horne
Sasha Horne (’05) graduated with her bachelor’s degree in communication, with a concentration in media studies. Since graduating, Sasha embarked on a media career that has taken her around the globe...16 countries thus far!

She interned in Washington, DC for WUSA-9 and was selected as a recipient of the very competitive fellowship at CNN where she worked on the team at Morning Express with Robin Meade doing rotations as a web producer, field producer and segment producer. While at CNN, Sasha taped her demo reel and landed her first on-camera job as a reporter and later bureau chief for WNCT-TV in North Carolina. From there she embarked on a freelance journalism career with her work appearing on dozens of media outlets NPR, PBS, and Forbes to name a few.

Sasha appeared on the ABC reality show Whodunnit? competing as “The Journalist”. This experience prompted her to relocate to Los Angeles where she’s worked as reporter, news editor and on camera host covering everything from the riots in Ferguson to cannabis legalization for Snoop Dogg’s outlet, Merry Jane

In 2014 Sasha expanded her reach to an international audience after launching her site, an online hub with one mission: to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. She writes, “No matter where you are from or what your circumstances are you can build something with impact and value.”

Sasha’s favorite thing about her career is paying it forward and inspiring others. This is the message Sasha takes on the road as a traveling storyteller and tech influencer. From speaking at schools to judging startup competitions, or moderating panels around the globe.
