The Department of Communication creates and shares knowledge of communication and relational processes, including ethical and critical decision-making, with the goal of encouraging the development of engaged citizens preparing for leadership in their professions, community, and world.

Welcome to the Department of Communication at the College of Charleston. We are a dynamic, integrated program with an accomplished faculty whose teaching and research are reflective of the diversity of our discipline. Special areas of strength for the department include corporate communication and public relationsintegrated mediahealth communication, and political communication. We aspire to help students become communication experts who write beautifully, speak eloquently, think critically, and research effectively.  Read more.

✨ Alumni Spotlight: Michelle McGrew ‘08 ✨ •• Alumna Michelle McGrew has been a fixture in academic administrative offices at the @collegeofcharleston for the past 5 years. You may have seen her at the @cofcgradschool, in the Provost Office, or most recently if you took a trip into Randolph Hall to see President @cofchsu. That’s because this summer she transitioned into the Executive Assistant to the President for CofC.
